The return prints are now winging there way back to all the IPE 2009 participants and should arrive before the month end - so keep checking your post / mail. It would help us greatly if you could email confirmation of the safe arrival of your prints to ipe@greendoor-printmaking.co.uk so that we can properly sign you off.
This will complete Stage One of the IPE 2009.
The next stage is to find the right gallery exhibition space to do justice to your beautiful prints. To this end we yesterday submitted a bid for a two week slot at the charming Beetroot Tree Gallery set in a converted Jacobean Barn: wish us well please!
We also plan to have the IPE 2009 Print Gallery up and running over the weekend so please keep sending in the details and permissions requested in my last email to you all. Thanks again to those who have already replied.
*** SPOILER ALERT ***
When the Print Gallery is online it will be possible with a bit of research to find out which prints you have been sent so if you don’t want to know until you receive your package from Green Door don’t go digging!

What many of you will not have realised is that for the past twelve months or more I have been struggling with fast-onset cataracts in both eyes as a side effect of a continuous high dosage of steroids - but that’s another story…
Well, I had the operation on my left eye yesterday and - wow! - the world is not only in focus once more but is a wonderful vivid palette of colour. Now at last I can see your beautiful prints in their full glory as you intended.
But I have an apology to those who receive my IPE 2009 print - it is not the print I thought it was! Not that I don’t like it - and hope you do - but it is far darker than I imagined. To give you an idea of the magnitude of change…
This

is what I perceived as

until this morning!
I know this post is a bit self-indulgent but I am so happy!!!

We have now closed submissions for the IPE 2009 with the safe receipt today of our last outstanding edition.
Our apologies if you had intended to submit prints but were unable to meet the deadline. The good news is that we are now committed to making this an annual event! Watch this (or a similar) space for advance notice of IPE 2010.
Everyone who registered interest in the IPE 2009 (whether or not they completed a submission) will be kept up to date with advance notice of IPE events. If you have family, friends or even casual acquaintances at home or abroad who may be interested in participating in future IPEs please tell them they can register interest at any time by emailing details to me at ipe@greendoor-printmaking.co.uk

In his last email to this year’s Print Zero exchange participants, Brian Lane gave a plug to the Green Door IPE 2009. This has resulted in a sudden flurry of enquiries from new potential entrants. This is great news and we are grateful to Brian for his generous support of the newbies in this our first attempt at an International Print Exchange.
While we do not expect to announce a general extension of the 1 September 2009 closing date for entries we are in a position to be flexible. If you have just heard about the IPE 2009 and still think you would like to participate please email me at ipe@greendoor-printmaking.co.uk and I will see what options are possible.
I guess that the same should also apply to those artists who have already registered interest but feel the the deadline is arriving too quickly!
If in doubt - get in touch. I am quite approachable.
Regards
Dave
